Deep tissue massage as the name suggests is applying precise pressure in sensitive points of the body, getting onto the deep layers of muscular tissue releasing chronic muscular tension or the normally called "knots".

.

The knots are little deposits of toxins origin from varied reasons and are located in different places around the body depending on the individual's genetic and lifestyle, and they can cause pain and discomfort.

.

Some places in the body are exposed to infections and injuries more than others, especially the joints, large muscle groups, and sensitive bones.

The same points, if damaged, do not receive proper blood flow and therefore inflammation and pain arise.

In order to get rid of the pain, prevent injuries and feel much lighter, relaxed and strong in your body, deep tissue massage releases deeper layers of tissue that cannot be accessed with general relaxation massage, it may give the feeling of muscle soreness the next days as the tense area is being treated and the fibers need to be releases.

.

This modality can be helpful to individuals who are considerably harder on their bodies than the average person, people who are undergoing physical therapy to aid in the breakdown process of scar tissue or anyone who has very dense tissue and thus responds better to the work.

.

Deep, long and slow techniques are used to provide maximum effectiveness, improving in-venous flow back to the heart, joint flexibility, reduces mental and physical stress and tiredness, endorphin production, improves posture, better sleep, more concentration, less anxiety and reduces blood pressure and promotes faster healing of muscular injured tissue, although you will fell sore on the next days after the treatment.  This is not the kind of massage to ask for if you expect to feel relaxed during the therapy
